Midstream: bringing the studio to the gallery

Following a very successful “soft launch” of our in-between shows with Andie Haltrich, we’re pleased to be handing the space over to Jamie Munro. For now, we’re trialing informal shows with trusted collaborators, but once we’ve worked out the kinks, we’ll be opening it up to artists who want to have their own shows!

Jamie has been drawing and painting in the Gatineau Hills since 1982. Like many of us in the Outaouais, he is drawn to the natural beauty of his surroundings, and his recent work puts that front and center through some pretty unique media: original block prints on paper and acrylic paintings on lightweight cedar panels salvaged from unrepairable canoes.

These fascinating pieces will fill the gallery throughout November alongside our Boutique section of locally made, gift-worthy finds.
