Contemporary Landscape Painting

“The majority of the work in this exhibit was completed over the last two years, though as reference a few older pieces are included. The themes and subject matter here range from contemporary landscape painting, portraits, and colour studies.  The current work is a continuation of a number of long standing explorations that trace back to my BFA, and from other non-painting studies and creative work completed over the years.  The landscape work here explores two themes – man’s presence and intervention in the natural environment; and the natural environment as colour field, literally and figuratively, loosely referencing American colour field painting from the 1950s.”
