Join the 100 Mile Arts Network for an inspiring evening celebrating the culmination of our Community Arts Café series. These free workshops have brought community members together to explore diverse art forms, and now it is time to showcase the incredible work produced by our participants and mentors.

This special event highlights the vibrant arts ecology of the Outaouais, bridging the gap between artists and the public to reduce isolation and build a stronger, more connected creative community.

Schedule

First Half: Presentations & Performances (7:00 PM – 8:00 PM) We kick off the evening with a showcase of the projects developed during our workshops:

  • Film & Animation: View a mini-film by videographer Savanna Oliver documenting the workshop series, followed by a stop-motion animation short created in Thea’s workshop.
  • Live Music: Enjoy performances by the Fiddleheads (both youth and adult groups).
  • Literary & Storytelling: Listen to an excerpt from Laurie Gough’s memoir writing workshop and reflections from Albert Dumont on his storytelling sessions.

Second Half: Interactive Artist Stations & Mingling (8:00 PM – 9:00 PM) The second hour invites you to explore the creative process firsthand through interactive stations and demos:

  • Eco-Dyeing: Discover Katharine Fletcher‘s unique method of dyeing with natural materials.
  • Pottery: Murai Céramique will demonstrate the journey from wet clay to finished pieces.
  • Portraiture: Watch painter Drew Bernard at his easel for a live demo and view unique works from the seniors’ portrait workshop.
  • Atmospheric Music: Enjoy ambient live music by Brian Sanderson and James Stephens as you mingle with the artists and fellow community members.
