About the Artist
Jamie Munro
Jamie Munro has been drawing, painting, and printmaking from an early age. His work is often a stylized rendering of the natural world, though it sometimes ventures into more abstract and surreal territory. Trees, water, sky, and old rural buildings appear as linoblock prints on paper and acrylic paintings on reclaimed cedar canoe pieces. He’s lived and worked in the Gatineau Hills since 1980, studied fine arts at the University of Ottawa and The Ottawa School of Art, and now teaches linoblock printmaking at La Fab Sur Mill in Chelsea.
