Artist Opportunity

[Closed] Call for Curators

Please note that this is intended as curation of other people’s work. If you’re interested in hosting a show of your own work, please see our “In-between” shows on the Gallery page.

Create your dream show at our Gallery

The 100 Mile Arts Gallery invites proposals from a curator who will select, organize, and present the work of other artists—excluding their own—for either a group exhibition or a solo show. They focus on shaping exhibitions, researching and interpreting artworks, coordinating with artists, and creating meaningful and cohesive experiences for the public.
Proposals from curators must outline the development and presentation of a group or solo exhibition featuring the work of other visual creators, to be presented for a two-month

The show will run between May 29th to July 30th, 2026. This paid opportunity offers the chance to explore fresh curatorial ideas, highlight local and regional talent, and engage the community through visual storytelling, collaboration, and dialogue.

Tell us a story

From traditional to contemporary, from classical techniques to digital innovation… consider furniture, fashion, printmaking, photography, or even the art of repair. Do you know of a trove of stitched treasures, dazzling baskets, quirky wooden forms, quilts, costumes, or couture pieces you’ve always imaged would shine in a gallery setting.

Your exhibition might be thematically driven, issue-based, artist-focused, or centered around materials or processes. We welcome innovative, experimental, and community-engaged approaches that reflect the diversity and creativity of our region.

Who can apply

We are looking for proposals from emerging and experienced Curators from MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais, MRC de Pontiac, and MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau. Artists, Makers and Academics and also the wildcards… art lovers, poets, collectors. If you meet the spirit of the criteria through other avenues, this is for you too.

The curator must be able to attend the Vernissage on June 4th, 2026.
